Brief warning: I’m only addressing the season 3 plot involving the Nogitsune and I won’t be addressing Teen Wolf the movie and no one can make me. Also this will contain spoilers so LOL. Teen Wolf, one of the shows that shaped me as a person I can’t lie, did steal some of my personality from Stiles Stilinski but honestly made me so much of a more entertaining person than anyone would know. Now overall Teen Wolf is somewhat of an average show but season 3 is one of the best TV show seasons that has ever been produced and this my somewhat (but actually extremely) exam style essay on why void stiles is one of the greatest villains ever.
Firstly, the whole set up towards the villain of Void Stiles is amazing. The end of 3a is the perfect set up to void stiles because the reason it occurs is due to the heroes ( Scott, Stiles and Allison have to open the Nematon in order to find their parents leaving the door of their minds ‘ agar’ this is the cause for the release of the evil spirit otherwise known as the Nogistune. The fact the main cause of why Void Stiles being because they were trying to find their at risk of dying parents adds an even sicker twist to its existence as it was avoidable in coming to Beacon Hills because these children love their parents (as most do.) Additionally, the fact that it was a seamless transition to Void Stiles occurring is what makes the set up so amazing because overall I really liked the Alpha Pack and Druid plot lines. They came very well together and I could really see why everyone was afraid of Deucalion. That dude was malicious. So the fact that they used the Nematon opening to save the parents because this druid had to use their deaths as power to kill Deucalion is a transition so good that tiktokers would be afraid of it.
The next reason I think Void Stiles is one of the greatest villains is backstory given is *chefs kiss. Furthermore, we get given one of the best characters Kira (personally I am a Kira stan and she should not have gone that way but we move on swiftly) the whole connection between the Nogitsune (the evil spirit released when the Nematon was charged up by the druid ritual Scott,Stiles and Alison had to perform ) to Kira’s mother is amazing. Haven’t we all had the love of our lives killed and be covered up so we call up to our Kitsune ancestors to heal our body in order to act out revenge on the people who harmed us and instead call up an evil spirit that takes the body of our dead lover that kills everyone left in the camp that we have to go and fight it in order to trap it in the Nematon. No.Just me and Noshiko Yukimura.Okay. The fact we get introduced to this fabulously rich backstory and the badasses that are Noshiko and Kira Yukimura just make this villain better and better.
The final reason I love Void Stiles is who he is. The Nogistnue itself is the most chaotic villain out there. It doesn’t have rhyme or reason, it doesn’t have a revenge plan or even an agenda it only strives and lives off pain,suffering and strife that happens around it. The next part is the fact that the Nogitsunue took over Stiles’ body. Stiles, normally the logical, works out what’s going on and the comedic friend just adds to its power.Also Dylan O’brian shines through in this acting performance of Void Stiles, just ugh. The fact that we as an audience watch as Stiles normally our source of comedy slowly loses his mind. No longer does he know when he is awake or dreaming and when a period of time is going. The fact Stiles has to work out himself that he is the biggest enemy is honestly such good writing even more the small nuances added such as Stiles getting his head scanned and the Nogitsune making it appear that he has the same disease as his dead mother is what elevates this villain even more. Previously I briefly mentioned the fact That Dylan O’brians acting is brilliant but the active change between Stiles and Nogitsune so good that you almost become afraid that any moment that Stiles will switch again to the Nogitsune case in point when they are trying to get the Nogitsune in Derek’s house and the rapid change from scared Stiles to the Nogitsune is crazy and what makes this season so rewatchable
In conclusion, Void Stiles is one of the best villains created in TV and all the words I just typed before tell you why. In a brief summary: the introduction and setup, the characters and backstory given and who is overall.
